Instagram launched a new way for users to submit account verification directly from the application.
This new method is intended to help users know the authenticity of an account from public figures, such as celebrities, global brands or other well-known entities.
To get verified, an account must meet Instagram Terms and Conditions and also their Community Guide. Instagram never asks for payment for account verification. As Facebook subsidiary company, they will review the verification request to confirm the authenticity, completeness and feasibility of each account.
Things which they review for account verification :
– Authenticity: Your account must represent the original person, or business and entity registered
– Completeness: Your account must be in public (public account) settings, have bio, profile photos, and at least one post.
– Feasibility: Your account must represent individuals, brands, or well-known entities that are often sought after by people. They also review the feasibility of accounts from news published by several mass media. They do not consider promoted content as a condition of eligibility.
To access the verification request form, just open the profile and tap the gear icon and select the “Request Verification” option. Users will be asked to enter their username, full name and attachment from their official or business identity.
Submitting verification documents & details does not guarantee that particular user account will get verified. After the request is received and reviewed further, Users will get information that the request has been received or rejected via the notification tab.
